　　这本书说了怎么在科研界生存。不要放长线，要短线操作，逐渐锻炼自己的能力，让别人相信自己，投资自己。在演讲等方面积累自己的实力，要能够展示自己。时时想着怎么才能把自己卖出去。吸取别人失败的经验，让自己成长，而不是去触碰那些致命的错误！！

　　《APhDIsNotEnough》读后感（一）：很有趣的书，也有些很有用的建议
　　看完这本书，知道了科研之路其实还很长。而我还有很多需要准备。
　　除了论文和学术成果，还要懂得沟通和交流，懂得找好的导师咨询，懂得如何让自己的研究更有吸引力。
　　书中的很多观点的确很有用：
　　1。发现研究的背景，很多时候我们做项目，做研究都是导师的决定，自己也没有细想就扎进去了，但是最后却发现应用的背景都没有理清楚。背景很重要，而且一定要在做项目之前就想好它。
　　2。讲好自己的故事，将背景转化为技术问题，这个过程是故事的开端，将技术问题的分析和解决讲清楚，这是故事的中间，最后等到汇报解决方案的结果和性能比较时，自然就是结果了。呵呵，这个过程要是引人入胜，那么公众和赞助方自然更给力。
　　3。发表论文要连续，不要等太久。我从没有想过这一点，但是现在发觉这确实是事实。连续的发表论文不仅更保险，而且对心理上也是一种鼓励和安慰，并且这样对自己也是一个不断的提高。
　　4。学术职位要早考虑，是去企业还是去高校或是政府部门，差别还是很明显。高校更自由，但是企业更有效率，而政府部门则压力更大。
　　前途路漫漫，但是只要有方向，把握住，结果总是不错的。
　　《APhDIsNotEnough》读后感（二）：想要生存下来，首先你得懂游戏规则
　　理想主义和实用主义往往不是那么冲突，就像仰望星空的时候也不妨碍你脚踏实地。作为一个社会底层受教育程度较高的一类人北美PhD，这本书虽然称不上警世恒言，但是至少在思维方式和行为方式上，对于摆脱tooyoung，toosimple的状态还是有着很大帮助的。
　　高中的大牛同学现在在S校物理PhD，某次吃饭聊起对物理的追求时也说，说到底，学术也不完全是一门追求真相的艺术，而更像是一个摸清规则的游戏。大学时候的学姐，在美国混了几年学术圈拿到绿卡，现在厌倦了去念法学院了准备当专利法律师了。闲来无事有时候跟老板扯淡，他常说到好的科研仅仅是给别人交流的资本，真正要想在学术圈混得如鱼得水，还得做很多socialize和marketing。
　　全书总结下来几点：
　　1。PhD期间尽量傍大款，就是功成名就的tenure的教授，这样你的文章别人会认为是你自己的贡献更大。如果是年轻的AssistantProf，大家都默认成果是AP的。不过要是你跟的大牛总是神龙见首不见尾，对你也不管不问，发不出paper，毕业也成问题。
　　2。Postdoc职位，最好选择可以短时间出成果的不是特别大的project。要有自己独创的思路，避免沦为老板的写项目申请的廉价劳工（因为项目申请里是不会挂postdoc的名字的），避免沦为仪器修理工的角色，因为仪器修理工就像姑娘给你发的好人卡一样，一旦收了好人卡，就再也没希望翻身了。
　　3。多跟实验室里的人搞好关系，跟老板搞好关系，跟系里的所有人搞好关系，尤其是大牛。最好能有个年老的大牛愿意做你的mentor，分享下人生经验并且说不定还能分享下他的人脉。对任何人nice，不要在学术圈树敌。想想我的AP老板都跟我说，他facultymeeting的时候非万不得已，常常keepmymouthshut，我还时不时地不知天高地厚地跟老板吐槽下xxx教授的授课很无趣。系里的退休返聘老大牛，等我生么时候搞出点名堂了，要去勾搭一下。
　　4。找工作的时候，要体现你是一个成熟的科研工作者，既有一个具体的project可以立刻给学校带来funding，也有一个全局的打算可以源源不断地为学校带来funding。大概就跟找老公一样，既要有车有房，还要有一份靠谱的工作可以源源不断地换车换房。
　　5。不管是做讲座还是写论文，不要拘泥于具体的细节，我老板也经常跟我讲要TellAStory。在这方面我觉得纪录片视角和对话视角对书面表达很有帮助。就是把写作当成是用一个纪录片的镜头来记录自己，或者是跟一个同事朋友电话来介绍自己做了什么。
　　6。去学校还是去researchlab很大程度上取决于机遇。去学校评上终身教授之前的5年几乎要呕心沥血，做你同龄人两倍的工作量，拿你同龄人二分之一的工资（大概8w10wyr），还要忍受本科生的骚扰，面临着养博士的压力。researchlab起薪比较高，如果混的好若干年之后可以回大学直接tenure，或者在researchlab进入管理层。
　　7。初入学术圈的新人要赶紧靠着publication续命，千万不要想着要攒满能量放大招，因为很可能在这之前，你已经被KO出竞技场了。
　　8。如果熬过5年，评上了tenure，老婆还没跑，身体还没透支，那么你可以开始旱涝保收的幸福生活了。工资十几万到二十几万，取决你继续拉funding的能力。写教科书或者自己开公司赚外快，只要不影响一周两天的教书，基本也没人反对。系里一个老教授，每周就开着他的保时捷来学校两天，老婆比他小二十岁，真是人生赢家。对了，唯一不能做的事情就是性骚扰女学生，这个很可能使你丢掉工作。
　　好了，停止YY，还是快滚回去做实验吧。
　　《APhDIsNotEnough》读后感（三）：牛B冲冲的科学家是怎样炼成的

　　二hr说实话，这书和我关系不大。因为自己从来没想过自己能读到Phd，更何况作者认为，phd还不够了。这里的不够有两层意思：1。读到Phd并不能给了一个完美的学术生涯2。对于搞科研和以后在学术界混，PHD是必须的，但是还不够。
　　之后就是作者的一些指导和建议，他认为科研，学术和生活，社交，和financialwellbeing是可以实现平衡的，你并不一定要忙得要命，或者很穷，或者像个呆子那样整天做实验。Thefocusisonstrategicthinking。
　　没错，一切的关键在于战略性思考。这也是贯穿全书的一个分析问题的思考过程。每一步都需要深思熟虑，做好明确的规划，同时考虑时机的把握，长期目标和短期目标的平衡，不要理想主义，要现实，别犯傻，不想没饭吃，就要平衡自己理想和屁股位置的关系。
　　三hr这书不会教你怎样去拿Nobelprices（作者也想有人教他！），但是会让你对于如何在学术界混得不错会很有帮助。而其中很多的一些准则和技巧，对于职场，我想也一样适用。书上的思考和分析过程，很值得借鉴。
　　最后作者说，经验是最好的老师。但是有些错误是致命的。Itisfarbettertolearnfromthebadeqeriencesofothersthanfromyourown
　　有这么一句话，聪明人从犯错中学习。智者，从别人的错误中学习。
